About the event
The play is part of the 24th theatre season at the Crystal. It is set in the labour ward of the San Callello hospital in Rome, where a woman is about to give birth. An obstetrician tries to manage both the patient and her companion, a close friend and successful manager who is nervous and self-centred. The woman chose not to tell anyone about the pregnancy, in order to keep her independence.
The bond between the two main characters, which began with a coincidence of names, is tested during the birth and reveals a feeling never confessed, held back by fear of change. Together with the ironic obstetrician Francesco, the trio goes through a night that will change their lives. The story explores the impulses, fears and search for balance of a generation looking for points of reference.
The show is also part of the fourth Crystallino theatre season. Its theme is accepting oneself through play.
