Credoinunsolodio – theatre by Stefano Massini

About the event

The play "Credoinunsolodio" opens the official programme of commemorations for the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Croce di Marone, the first historic page of the Resistance in the Brescia area. The ANPI sections of Valle Trompia and Sebino organise it, with the patronage of the Municipality of Provaglio d'Iseo.

The text is by playwright Stefano Massini and the director is Andrea Frati. It looks at the Middle East conflict through three women, played by Fabiana Biemmi, Giulia Casciaro and Laura Galletti: a professor of Jewish history, an American soldier and a young Palestinian student.

The title is deliberately ambiguous. It can be read as "credo in un solo Dio" (I believe in one God) or "credo in un sol odio" (I believe in one hatred), and the play asks how fear, religion and ideological barriers can turn everyday life into a trench.

The production is by the Gruppo Teatrale Forest. It opens a weekend devoted to remembering the Resistance as a collective commitment to freedom, democracy and peace.
